On Saturday, April 26, 2025, HIMAKI (Chemistry Student Association) of Airlangga University held an Organizational Management Training event at Lecture Hall FST 312, Campus C, Airlangga University. The event was attended by approximately 79 participants, consisting of active members of HIMAKI 2025 from the 2024 cohort. The training aimed to enhance leadership and managerial capabilities among the executive board members to address organizational challenges in the Gen Z era.

The first address was delivered by Tiara Pradipta Yahya, the event coordinator. The second speech was given by Herliana Vera Fenorika, Head of the PSDM Division of HIMAKI 2025. The final speech was delivered by Muhammad Evan Maulana Zaki, Chairman of the Chemistry Student Association 2025. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of this training as an effort to strengthen the internal organization to remain relevant and progressive amid changing times.

This training session features two inspiring speakers. The first speaker is Ardi Lukman Hakim, a master’s student at ITS and former Chair of the FSAD-ITS Student Executive Board (BEM) 2023, who will present on the topic of “Facing the Internal and External Dynamics of Student Organizations.” In this session, Ardi emphasized the importance of organizations as safe spaces for growth and how leaders must be able to distinguish between personal and structural conflicts. He also introduced the concepts of Psychological Safety, Situational Leadership, and the 6 Thinking Hats as approaches to addressing internal organizational conflicts.

The second session was presented by Anggun Zifa Anindia, President of the Airlangga University Student Executive Board 2025, with a presentation titled Rethinking Leadership: Creating a Relevant and Progressive Organization in the Gen Z Era. Kak Zifa invited all participants to reevaluate the leadership patterns implemented in student organizations. She emphasized that leadership today is not just about position, but about the ability to be a facilitator, catalyst, and compass for the team. She also highlighted the three important pillars of Gen Z organizations, namely purpose, people, and progress.

This event served as a highly dynamic discussion forum. The question-and-answer session was lively and interactive, providing valuable insights into strategies for organizational development based on individual strengths and healthy communication. The event contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (quality education) and Goal 16 (peaceful societies and accountable institutions).
The event concluded with a joint prayer, the singing of the HIMAKI anthem, and a joint documentation session involving all participants and presenters. This training marks the first step toward HIMAKI 2025’s goal of building a more adaptive, supportive, and impactful organization.
