Chemistry Student Achieves Success: Winner of the 2025 East Java Language Ambassador Competition

Another proud achievement has been made by students from the Department of Chemistry. Ari Prasetyo, an active student who is also known as an inspirational figure in various student activities, has successfully earned the title of East Java Language Ambassador 2025.
Ari’s interest in this event stems from his love for the Indonesian language and the diversity of regional languages, which are now being eroded by globalization. His previous experience as a Tourism Ambassador for Blitar Regency reinforced his view that language and tourism are two important pillars in the preservation of national culture.
“This event is not just a competition, but a space to fight for the dignity of language,” said Ari in an interview. He also added that his participation was a form of moral responsibility to bring the good name of Blitar Regency to the provincial level.

Ari’s motivation for participating in this competition was his desire to contribute to Trigatra Bangun Bahasa, which prioritizes the Indonesian language, preserves regional languages, and promotes foreign language proficiency. He wanted to expand his contribution in the field of literacy and language, while also demonstrating that young people from rural areas are capable of competing and making a significant impact.
During his preparation, Ari strengthened his understanding of language and literature, trained his public speaking skills, and deepened his knowledge of strategic issues surrounding literacy. Support from his family, friends, and various regional agencies such as the Blitar Regency Tourism Office and Library Office were important factors in his success.
Despite facing challenges such as maintaining motivation amid a busy competition schedule and balancing time with college, Ari remains consistent and focused. “With the right support, all challenges can be overcome,” he said.

Through his achievements, Ari hopes to inspire the younger generation not to be afraid to take steps forward and continue to work hard. “Make language a tool for struggle and identity,” he said.
Going forward, Ari is committed to creating sustainable literacy programs and serving as a liaison between young people and the government in the preservation of language and culture. He also hopes to continue learning and setting an example in the fields of language and social affairs.
