To strengthen ties of friendship following the Eid al-Fitr holiday and simultaneously foster a sense of care for one another, the Social Affairs Division (Sosma) of the Chemistry Students Association (HIMAKI) organized an event titled “Halal Bihalal x Social Service” on Saturday, April 19, 2025, held at BG Junction, Surabaya. The event was attended by all HIMAKI members as well as children from the orphanage that served as a partner in this social initiative.
The event began at 11:00 AM with an opening session featuring a welcome address by the Association President, Evan, who expressed his hope for the continued success of such social activities as a tangible manifestation of students’ dedication to the community. The address was followed by a speech from the Event Coordinator, Andinna, who expressed gratitude to all parties who contributed to the event’s success. The final speech was delivered by the Chair of the Social Division, Anggita, who emphasized the importance of empathy, togetherness, and the role of students in social community actions.
Following the speeches, the event continued with a forgiveness session as a symbolic gesture of the Eid al-Fitr tradition, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere among the participants.
The event then moved on to a game session with the children from the orphanage. A variety of fun and educational games successfully broke the ice, bringing laughter and joy to everyone present. The interaction between the students and the children from the orphanage demonstrated a high spirit of togetherness.

After the game session, an outreach and content creation session was held. In this session, each division at HIMAKI had the opportunity to get closer to one child from the orphanage who had been assigned to them. They engaged in dialogue, shared stories, and documented the moment in the form of creative content as a token of appreciation and a memento.

The event concluded with a group photo session, where all participants and organizers posed together to mark the end of the event. Laughter, smiles, and a few tearful moments filled the meaningful conclusion of this event.

The Halal Bihalal x Social Service event went smoothly and successfully. The atmosphere was lively, joyful, and touching, reflecting the event’s success in uniting the spirit of family and social awareness. We hope that activities like this can continue to be carried out on an ongoing basis, as a form of HIMAKI’s real contribution to building a more caring and empathetic society.
