Rico Ramadhan, Ph.D., a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Universitas Airlangga, had the opportunity to receive full funding for a Short-Term Training Program from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Republic of Korea, in collaboration with Green Bio Science and Technology (GBST), Seoul National University (SNU). This international program was conducted from May 11–21, 2026, at the National Instrumentation Center for Environmental Management (NICEM) of Seoul National University, Daejeon Technopark, the Rural Development Administration, and several Korean laboratory equipment manufacturers.
This Short-Term Training Program is a strategic initiative of KOICA involving several universities in Indonesia, including IPB, UNAIR, USU, UNAND, ITK, and ITERA, as well as a university from Timor-Leste, namely Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL). The program focuses on enhancing the competencies and capabilities of participants from various universities in sustainable Agro-Bio Industrial Research and Development by exploring strategic themes that have been developed in the Republic of Korea.
During the program, Rico Ramadhan, Ph.D., who also serves as the Head of the Center of Excellence for Higher Education (PUI-PT) – Bio-Molecular Engineering Research Center (BIOME), Universitas Airlangga, presented an Action Plan and stated that “this short-term training program enables the establishment of mutually supportive multidisciplinary collaborations among universities in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and the Republic of Korea.”
